Do you know Mr.Chon, an empathetically peculiar person who is also easygoing and very caring? He has been teaching for 5 years, but became interested in teaching about 10 years ago. He has taught not only at Pyle, but at Wayside Elementary School in Potomac, and Mill Creek Towne Elementary School. Lucky for us, he thinks middle schoolers are better. His favorite part of teaching is being able to interact with the students. He also likes to develop relationships with fellow teachers and students of all ages. He actually didn’t always want to be a teacher. In fact, it was the last thing he thought he would do. In reality, he originally wanted to be a physical therapist or an art related job. He developed a passion for learning over time through the different students he met. Teachers and counselors influenced him as he pursued his career. While it was an unexpected turn in his life he doesn’t regret his decision. The only thing he would change his job for is a musical career. So, why science? During his teacher internship, he was in several science classes and enjoyed all of them. He liked the lab aspect, and discovering new things.
You might have already known, but Mr. Chon also break dances. His inspiration? A certain scene in a movie called “A Night at the Roxbury”, a comedy about two brothers who wanted to start a dance club, which stars Will Farell. Shortly after, his dream began to form. Surprisingly, he wasn’t as good at break dancing when he started as he is now. Mr. Chon also teaches a break dancing club as well as his regular eighth grade science classes. He said it’s very fun and interesting to see them try new moves. Out of school, Mr. Chon enjoys watching the Walking Dead, his favorite tv show. He even got his phone case signed by Norman Reedus, one of the main cast members. Mr. Chon enjoys the show because he likes the human aspect and how they respond to different situations. He loves the color blue almost as much as the walking dead, but purple is out of the question. In five years from now he plans to pursue a career in...building a dog army? Yes, you read that right. Mr. Chon wants to be a dog collector in the not so near future. His goal before then, however, would be to avoid cheeseburgers at all costs, as well as Five Guys. That’s too bad, because he loves to grill and barbeque. I’ll end My Version of this Ka-Chonicle with one of his favorites quotes by J.K. Chesterson. “There is no such thing as new news, just old news happening to new people.” And that’s a wrap!
